As with all things Hollywood, this diet is supposedly a ‘miracle’. The Hollywood 48-Hour Miracle Diet was dreamed up by Jamie Kabler after experiencing the rejuvenating effects of spa treatments in Europe. The plan is short; after all, it’s only a 48-hour plan. It is a liquid supplement that a dieter fasts on for 48 hours while eliminating any solid foods during that time period.

Premise and Guidelines: This diet has gained much popularity in advertising and marketing, if not for the effectiveness of the diet. Even those that are not interested in dieting have heard of the Hollywood Diet, due to the endless promotion of this product. The ‘miracle’ of the diet is that weight loss occurs quickly and dramatically in only 48 hours. Some of the claims made offer the promise of up to 10 pounds in 2 days!
The magical concoction sold in this diet (and the only product you are to consume) is a liquid blend of fruit juices and 'special' enzymes. During the 48 hours of this liquid diet, the dieter is only allowed to imbibe the special fruit juice - no food is allowed.
According to Kabler, this miracle juice washes away unhealthy toxins and helps sweep away fat, providing your digestive system with a break from its usual duties. While the dieter is on the 48-hour juice fast, the metabolism will be stimulated, enhancing your fat-burning potential.
The Hollywood Diet claims that the effectiveness is clinically proven, which seems to substantiate the legitimacy of the product and alleviate concerns about safety. However, a dieter must keep in mind that any company can hire a ‘clinic’ or doctors to ‘prove’ their theories or effectiveness, and the long-term results may not please you. Naturally, anyone would lose weight on a liquid diet, but if this is the only mechanism by which the diet works, the weight will be regained when the dieter begins eating solid foods again. When examining the contents of the Hollywood Diet liquid, it would seem that you could create your own liquid for less and perhaps incorporate a more long-lasting plan to lose the weight permanently.
