THE SUPERMARKET DIET
The Supermarket Diet was created by Dr. Janis Jibrin in 2005. This diet plan consists of meal plans including shopping lists, recipes and snacks. The creator believes that dieters fail due to the poor stock of bad foods readily available to them.
Foods Emphasized: Low calories foods based on personal needs
Foods Discouraged: High calorie foods
Premise and Guidelines: The Supermarket Diet is a well thought out plan that is easy for dieters to follow. The program helps participants decide what calorie level is best for them and how to progress through the diet. The plan begins with a two week meal plan, including a shopping list of healthy ingredients. Participants are given a full shopping list of everything needed to properly stock a kitchen, from the freezer to the pantry. All food items are low in calories and have good nutritional value.
The Supermarket Diet expansively covers all nutrition and eating components of a diet, but does not offer a great amount of advice on exercise or support. Participants will have to look elsewhere for emotional and psychological support concerning weight issues.
This well organized plan is easy to understand and can show fantastic results if followed closely. The diet promotes more of a lifestyle change, which will produce long term weight loss.
